Explore GLG's expert Network

Domain expertise for complex & regulated industries

GLG’s expert network was built for high-stakes decision making. In model training, that means the situations where a flawed model can cause real financial, clinical, or societal harm, or where the consequences of error are severe.

Why GLG Frontier

Since 2023, we’ve given the leading frontier labs access to the practitioners at the very top of their fields: people who’ve built careers on being the world’s first and the world’s best, with hundreds more joining our global network every day.

Get started
01.
AI evaluation design
Experts decompose a profession into its component workflows and help design the real-world scenarios used for AI model evaluation.
02.
Task & rubric authoring
Practitioners draw on their own professional experience to create realistic tasks and write the AI rubrics used to judge model outputs.
03.
Expert evaluation
Practitioners review model outputs to identify domain-specific failure modes, validate AI evaluations, and assess model performance against professional standards.
CASE STUDIES

GLG has already built the bench your model's domain requires

GLG is built for rapid expert sourcing in highly specialized domains, and our service model supports flexible engagements, with new expertise added to the project as the work evolves.

BIOLOGICAL RISK AND BIOSECURITY
Red teaming the model's knowledge of biological threats
The Challenge

A frontier lab needed to stress test its model's knowledge of biological threats: what it knew, what adversarial prompting could surface, and how to close those gaps.

What We did

An MD from the Francis Crick Institute and an Associate Professor of Immunobiology from Yale led a cohort of 7 experts in molecular biology, virology, microbiology, and biosecurity, onboarded within a week. The team wrote adversarial questions, built a scoring rubric across accuracy, actionability, novelty, and risk, then graded model responses over a six-week engagement.

US DRUG POLICY
Training the model to reason like a drug policy analyst
The Challenge

A frontier lab needed to understand how research, expert discourse, and public forums shape drug policy, and how AI could support evidence-based policy development.

What We did

Within two weeks, GLG rapidly sourced and onboarded 10 experts with advanced degrees in public policy, law, criminology, sociology, and public health, including a Professor of Criminal Justice from Georgia State, a former White House Advisor to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and a Political Science lecturer from Yale. The cohort conducted primary research on policy influence, academic discourse, and real-world applications.

WELLNESS AND MENTAL HEALTH IN AI CHATS
Teaching the model to recognize a mental health crisis
The Challenge

A client partner needed expert-informed guidelines for how AI chatbots and online platforms should respond to youth in emotionally sensitive situations.

What We did

One of GLG's most trusted independent consultants led 90-minute moderated interviews with 25 leading mental health practitioners, backed by a full-service team overseeing research end to end. The sessions explored crisis response, risk triggers, and interventions that strengthen well-being, trust, and safety, with call notes, transcripts, and recordings delivered throughout.

NUCLEAR RISKS AND RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY
Teaching the model where nuclear risk knowledge turns dangerous
The Challenge

A leading AI company needed to deepen its understanding of radiological and nuclear weapons topics to support trust and safety testing.

What We did

A Senior Principal Research Fellow from the Nuclear Policy Research Group at National University of Singapore anchored a group of experts in nuclear physics and nuclear engineering, alongside Professors from Florida Atlantic and North Carolina State, a former Program Manager at the World Association of Nuclear Operations, and a former Program Director at the U.S. Department of Energy. Onboarded within a week, the team completed annotation tasks over a two-month period.

EXTREME WEATHER RISK ALERTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
Testing whether the model's sources hold up under real conditions
The Challenge

A PhD-level UX researcher at a major tech company needed to assess the quality and validity of AI-recommended research sources for extreme weather alerts, events, and communications, including floods.

What We did

Five leading extreme weather researchers and scientists from the Natural Hazards Center and top university science programs joined an interactive assessment of the client's AI-recommended outputs, evaluating accuracy, completeness, clarity, and response relevance.
